Anybody using any cordless devices with this technology? Any noticable advantages over 900, 2.4, 5.8 systems in use now?

DECT phones are common over in Europe. Phillips and B.T. are two of the most popular brands.

I often write product reviews over at epinions.com. Another member wrote a review of a GE DECT phone. Here is the link to the review.

It mentions some health concerns of using DECT phones and he listed some features of the phone (after Howard Creech [category lead] mentioned the review had almost nothing to do with the telephone itself). I rated the review S.H. (Somewhat Helpful). wink

Ok here’s my review.

Ironically, before I posted, I had ordered that exact phone linked to above. I now have a Uniden 900, Panasonic 2.4 dss, GE 5.8, and GE Dect. I put them all in the same environment and the Dect out performed them all; with the Panasonic 2.4 very close in performance. My main concern was distance w/o interference, and while the Panasonic had a little more distance overall, the Dect had more distance w/o the interference hopping/static; approximately 300’. Basically, walked outside my brick house down the block

So you all can take this for what its worth.

DECT is great in the enterprise solution as it allows for multi-cell coverage and density.

PM me for details on getting DECT 1.9 systems.
