Here's a situation I haven't come across before:
Client is in a jam. Their phone system is being repossessed (not by the finance company, but by a disgruntled ex-partner). They need a replacement ASAP. The only thing I have on the shelf is an MICS (without the PRI keycode installed).
So...will a non-PRI system work with a PRI T1 (even temporarily until I order the keycode)?

A T1 is just the method of transport for the PRI circuit. Without the key code, the system won't operate on a PRI even if there was any other means to deliver a PRI.
The only exception would be to send the T1 that carries the PRI into an integrated access unit (ie: channel bank) to break the PRI channels out into FXS ports (CO lines). That would be dirty, difficult and expensive to do.
Sorry for the bad news.

I have run MICSs on "regular" T1 circuits without PRI (and no channel bank). But you're saying once the circuit is converted to PRI, then PRI software is required?
