I accessed a CS1000E 5.5 remotely thru a modem yesterday to look at the system time since I realized I hadn't redefined the Daylight savings in the switch and found out that time was off. I went into ld 2 at admin1 and remembered I needed to be at admin2 level to change the parameters. I couldn't exit the overlay, end, ****, nothing worked. I could do whatever I wanted to in ld 02, I just couldn't get out of it. I stopped the modem session, and I went on sight to power down the modem. I waited overnight and this morning dialed the modem with the same results, I was still in ld 2. Going back on sight, I accessed the switch through elements manager and admin2, and I see that tty 01 is active with admin1 session. FORC 1 fails and says that the overlay is still active. I ended up having to INI the system to get it to release the session. My question is: WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? Jim

Seems weird that the CS1000e would not have logged admin1 out after say 30 minutes. When you say 4 stars didnt work, or end this system recognized your info? And if you did a ****, you were still able to do a ttad? How many TTY ports do you have active? Does this site have OTM or anything like that operating at it? Have you thought about setting up the time to use NTP and poll the time from a time server or machine on the network versus having to manually change it if it is off...
Two girls later and I'm back.....lol...been gone a while but see same faces still here. Lol

Yeah it was weird. I could still interact within LD 2 even the next day. I have 3 + 4 psuedos. What is weirder is that admin2 FORC X was refused by the system. I could have outed the tty, but INI was faster and they were quiet at the moment, so I bumped it and it released.
I agree NTP would be ideal, but this E911 system interfaces with a Combix computer system for 911 dispatch and the Combix (old school) guy didn't want NTP set up, instead wanting the Combix system doing time management through a tty port. Apparently it's not doing very good and I'm having another discussion with my Texas friend Monday about this.
