My Sundance Partners,

We are running into an issue with our installation that I really haven't experienced before. We have always followed this guide for our wiring for the lines coming into the phone system, but for some reason we aren't getting dial tone on lines 5-8.

Pair Color Line

1 W/BL 001
2 W/OR 002
3 W/GR None
4 W/BR None
5 W/SL 003
6 R/BL 004
7 R/OR None
8 R/GR None
9 R/BR 005 (031)
10 R/SL 006 (032)
11 BK/BL None
12 BK/OR None
13 BK/GR 007 (033)
14 BK/BR 008 (034)
15 BK/SL None
16 Y/BL None

Is this incorrect? We haven't had a problem in the past. I can tell you we get dial tone at the block. I have one extension set for appr&ring for all of the lines. I can get dial tone on 1-4 however, 5-8 give me not in service and a busy signal.

Depending on the software version, the line numbers for 5-8 may be different. The connections to the cable pairs listed above are correct.

Do you know the SW version? Is this a CICS or MICS?

Wiring scheme looks correct. Perhaps the trunk card for lines 5-8 is bad (try re-seating the card once) or the cable from the block to the KSU is bad. That is what I would suggest trying first.

Go to Hardware and make sure system seez a card. Then go to maintanance and try to Enable card. Sometimes you have to Disable it first and then Reenable.

Line 005-008 are for BRI cards only

POTS lines are for the 2nd card are 031-034 on 7.1 software.
