I have a FastRAD that will not answer a call from a DID. I can get connected by op assist with out issue.

I have it connected to ext 2252. 2252 is assigned target line 176.
Received number is 7999 on line 176.
Prime is set to 2252.

The RAD is programmed with line 176.
Answer on 6 rings.
Auto answer is ON.

Any one have any ideas on why it will not answer?

I am not sure if I got all the info you would need listed, soklpease ask if there is anything else you need to know.

Thank you for your time.

Greg

I will try that, but it shouldn't matter.
Documentation says to set it to 6 for immediate answer.
When I call the number it just continues to ring as long as I let it.

Try connecting a phone to that port and see if the phone rings on that target line. This will check your programming to be correct.

I don't know the answer to this off the top of my head.
So I ask the question, Will the RAD answer a target line??
Do you have any POTS lines to try?

I don't have a RAD here to test, but I think in the programming - 6 is the smallest number and stands for seconds - not rings. 6 should be 1 rings or first ring since the phone rings every 5 or 6 seconds.

Also - you said you programmed the ext for line 176. But did you program the RAD to answer line 176 ??? Just programming the ext in the normal Phone Admin, does not mean anything to the RAD. It is programmed in the RAD programming.

NTlayoff,

In my initial post I mentioned that the RAD is set to answer line 176.

Also, the RAD is designed to be on a Target line.
My understanding is that being on a target line is how it is able to read the information from the system.

But connectiong a station set to the port to check the programming is a good idea.

I will try that.

But in the end I think the RAD is bad, and will have to replace it.

Thank you for the replies.

I was just at a site today with PRI and DID.
I set up the RAD for answer on target line.
It answered and connected.

Can you tell if your RAD answers but does not connect?
Or it won't even answer the call?

If it answers but not connects, it could be your PRI circuit. I have had many like that. The provider sometimes has to reconfigure for that one DID line to work as data.

Jsaad,

I saw that information in another post and I tried it at a lower target line and it made no difference.
Besides, the site is fairly new.

NTLayoff,

The RAD won't answer at all. The line just rings until I quit waiting for an answer. I have let it ring for at least 10 to 15 rings.

Again thank you for your replies.

buy a 100% Brand New Rad or PM me and I will get you the patch. The patch has worked for me.

any line over 145 is an issue so whether it's 145 or 157 or 190 it won't answer.
