Hello all. I'm new to this forum and hope that I've found the place to help me.
We have a ten-ish year old Norstar system with Voicemail 3.0. Several years ago I implemented a CCR tree but when business picked up we hired a real receptionist. Well times being what they are we're back to needing the tree. I'm trying to make changes to it, since staff has changed.
I go along fairly merrily until I try to save the stupid thing when I get 'cannot continue'.
I'm stumped! The manual doesn't address what the heck that means and I swear I'm following everything correctly. Any suggestions are appreciated!! Thanks very much. Darlene in Berkeley CA

welcome to the board.

It could mean that your tree is not complete. For example, one option is to Xfer to an extension, but you didn't say which one.

What exactly are you trying to do? You should only need to tell it to anser the lines and when, unless there are other changes that you are making at the same time.

Thanks for the quick reply Dave, I actually was hanging in at the office in hopes of a response.

The tree is pretty simple I think and worked fine before. Just one level with 5 paths, each path represents a department and I recorded the name of each person and their extension.
I'm just re-recording each path with the new names and extensions. ???? I'm not telling it to transfer to extensions. After the initial recording it directs them to which number to press for which department and once they choose the number they hear the recording of the folks in that department and their extensions.

Did you disable the tree before making changes?

Danny,
Yes absolutely. It's actually been disabled for several years. But when it failed the first time I did go back and enable it and then disabled it to make the changes.
I think I'm just going to go with a straight auto attendant and let callers deal with searching by name instead of giving them a department option. We have DID so most folks should use those anyway. Thanks
