Hello guys,
I just reinstalled a MICS with 80 phones. I had to change from 3 digit to 4 digit dialing so the DIDs matched so I started from scratch. I have acouple of odd issues that I can not figure out.

the Operators Ext is 1116 and is set that way in the Control sets section but when anyone dials Zero it rings Ext 1142.

The VMail is working correctly and sends the calls to 1116 as needed.

I also have 1 mailbox that when you press the Vmail button it says Log and not password. I have rebuilt the box many times but it does not change anything.

Help. I am sure it is simlpe.

Direct Dial is under systen programing

When Log comes up usually there isnt a mailbox on that set.

It does have a mailbox built on that extension. It lets you open it up if you do mailbox then password and #. I have never had a MB do this before and I have built 1000s

I will look into Direct Dial.

I'd verify what that button is actually pointing to. Just redo the button as F981 (or press Feature 981) & see what it does then.

I am happy to say that the Direct Dial is what I was looking for. I tried it on my Home system and that was the problem. I can't beleive that with all of the systems I have programmed in my 30+ years I have never been in that program.

The Voice mail is my only issue left to resolve. I know that the Button is programmed with F981 because I copied all 80 phones and this is the only one that has this issue.

I am wonder that after 30 years you reinstalled MICS with Ext. numbers started with 1 if you know that MB 1000 and 1002 can't be changed. What MB number you have a trouble with? Did you Reinstall VM after you changed numbering plan? and why you changed a numbering plan if Target line convertion table allow to have DID set up for 4 digits and Exts to remain 3 digits?

The existing numbering plan had 200s and 300s Extension numbers. The DID range that got from the LEC was 1100 to 1199. They wanted to clean things up and so we reset both sys and VM and changed everything to match the DIDs. The mailbox we are having trouble with is MB 1110. They also skipped several numbers in each block of of numbers so we had to change a lot of DNs to save the unused ports on the switch.

I ran into this myself at one point on my BCM400. A caller would dial in an the AA would pick up. If the caller dialed 0 it would go to one of the users phones instead of the operator.

I recall that the user's dial by last name started with the letter Z which on many phones is missing or the phone has Q and Z on the 0.

I think if your opening message is short and you go right into the CCR tree, hitting 0 will bring you to a person whose dial by name starts with Q or Z. It took me a while to figure out what was going on with this because I only had the one person with Q or Z. If I had two I would have been prompted with a choice of who I wanted, but since I just had the one it would go to them.

Have you try to move that ext. on different port or change number and build another MB?
