Hello:

I have a Norstar Plus ICS with four Nortel 7208 units and five incoming lines that lost all programming after a brief power outage.

How do I recover the programming for all of my lines? When power was restored, I only got access on each handset to the first two incoming lines and then: last number, page, conference, trans, speed dial, intercom - these are the default configurations on the phones, I believe.

Please help - this is really affecting my business!

Thanks!

You need to either call a Norstar knowledgeable tech, or ask for PM help, or click the installer tab at the top of the page. Your system has defaulted and that requires technician level programming.

To avoid a repeat, either connect the cabinet to a quality UPS, or have the memory super-capacitor replaced. The thing is, if you have another power failure, it will default again, unless you install the UPS or new capacitor.

I would actually suggest doing both. As John stated, you will need a Nortel Installer on site to reprogram, bus ask him/her to replace the cap and supply a UPS when you call.

And when you unplug the Norstar to plug into the UPS, it will default again. You need to fix the capacitors.
