I have a newer customer, did not sell them the original equipment but have added some fiber expansion modules. MICS 7.0(I believe).

They currently have 8-10 loop start trunks, and want to add a couple more. I'd like to reccomend they swith to a PRI, all the obvious benefits, DID and etc. I'm not a Nortel guy, can service, program and etc. but just want to have the right solution for them.

My question, never having installed a PRI on a Nortel, what components do I need? What compatability concerns for different versions? Waht other questions should I ask you guys?

Thanks, John.

While I'm here bothering you guys, what's the difference between a 7316 and a 7316e? Since I've got your attention, let me ask this too. The receptionist, same place, is asking for a cordless phone, better off with a Norstar Digital or an ATA and an analog cordless, generally speaking?

For Rel. 7.0 you would need only 4 things: System
ID, COMBO Module, PRI Enabler code and DTI card. I would recommend to change 7.0 Flash for 7.1 the latest one.

Difference between those two phones is a speaker button Placed between MIC and Headset buttons to be able to have one additional button for usage.

I would recommend System Integrated Cordless.

The BIGGER difference is that the T7316 acts more like the M7310. You cannot put line buttons, target lines, etc.. on the top 3 buttons of each side. Only on the bottom 5 buttons. The top 3 can be programmed just like the Extra buttons on top of the M7310.

Once you have a T7316e phone with 6.1 software or better, then you have all 16 buttons for phone lines, Ans DN, Target lines, etc...
If you should have a T7316e phone with less than 6.1 then it turns into a T7316.

While more expensive, the Nortel digital cordless phone does perform better.
