Hello

Hope you are well!

I would need some information in regards to what I need to install a MICS.
I have a MICS and I would like to install it in our shop
Here is the description of the kit.

NTBB41FB-93 X 1 Nortel Fiber Station Module 0x16

NTAB9865 X 1 Norstar CallPilot 100
NT5B82CK X 1 Software Mail Box

NTBB20FB Nortel 12 X 1 X 0 Fiber Trunk Module With NT5B41GA X1-93 4-Port Caller ID Trunk Card DS

NT7B53FA-93 Modular ICS X 1 Nortel 0x32 Key Service Unit
NTBB08GA-93 Norstar MICS NVRAM X 1 R1
NT7B66DQ X 1 Software for Phone System Version 6.1
NTBB02GA-93 X 1 2 Port Fiber Slim Expansion Cartridge
NT5B41GA-93 X 2 4-Port Caller ID Trunk Card DS

There is a sign on the module that resembles a phone and a kind of pole and line with a telephone and speaker, I am thinking this is the cable line and outs for individual stations? I currently have several telephones model number: Nt2n41aa114 (Bell Telephone) can these work with this system?

Also, there is a voice mail along with several plugs, 1, 2 and an Ethernet plug, where must I plug 1 and 2? And finally, I currently own a 110 Block Wiring Hub can I still use it with this system?

Thanks in advance for your time

This forum is probably misnamed. It's really Phone Sysmte TECHS support. We provide tips on items found in the users manual and support to Phone system techs via public and private forums.

You have the parts for a Nortel MICS. If you're looking to put it together, then Canada is a large country and you can use the Installers tab on top to possibly find a dealer in your Province, or you can be more specific and someone can contact you.

I'm not familiar with NT phone part numbers, we use M7310 and M7324 part numbers for the ICS series and T7xx part numbers for CICS and BCM's. The questions you ask are very basic, which shows you know very little about the system. It's not a DIY project. The two jacks on the Call Pilot connect to ports on the ICS. You could use 110 blocks, and all the parts require some assembly. It looks like you have most of the parts if the phones are proper.

I suggest paying an installer to put them together.

Carl

I concur, this is NOT a DITY install. You need a qualified technician. Improper installation could cause irrepairable damage..

Just as the other two have said, You need to find a tech that can install it for you.

And those phones will NOT work on that system as is. I really do not know what those phones are other than I know they will not work as is. ONLY IF they are a true analog phones, then you could use them but you MUST have an Analog adaptor for each phone - which does not show up in your phone list.

And to answer your TOPIC question.......

It is a very good phone system.
You would want to get some phones for it.
T-series - like T7316e phones are the newest ones. Also, T7208.
The older M-series will also work. M7310 & M7208.

Ahh, Gee. Another on-line purchaser gets bit. When will it be common knowledge to call in a reputable company locally.... :bang:

Well he has a MICS 6.1 set up with 12 Caller ID lines and 40 digital extensions and a Call Pilot with some number of mail boxes so that is better than two tin cans and string.

He was certainly polite, and obviously doesn't understand all the little nuances of this board.

I'm taking him under my fat little wings by PM and at least pointing him in the directions I can.

And as far as Craigslist goes, I just got a steal of a deal on a wonderful MacPro Xeon with a 30 inch monitor and found a couple very nice customers on there so before you bash it, you might try it. Besides the killers on there, you can find some good deals and some good customers, certainly better value for your money than the Yellow Pages.
