Due to budget cuts I am yet another computer tech being pressed into service supporting a phone system. I have some basic knowledge of systems and the documentation for the BCM.
The phone sets we use are Meridian 7208's, though we have some 7310's also. Starting about two years ago, as folks left, the phone set they were using was unhooked from the wall and the DN was labeled as vacant in the Element Manager.
I was asked to set one of those desks back up, reconnect the phone. When I plug the phone in nothing happens. If I plug it into my wall jack it will connect to the BCM and reclaim it's extension number. But if I plug it into the wall jack at the old workstation it does nothing. I have confirmed it is the phone that was at that workstation and that it was working when it was unplugged. Beyond basic connectivity, cut wires etc, any clues as to why the phone would not reconnect to the BCM?
Thanks for any help

If the phone does not even flash, there is no connection the BCM. Time to trace the wire.
