So, does the M8X24-DS only come with 2CO/trunk ports? If that is the case what trunk card do I use?

Bare, it comes equipped &ready for up to 8 lines and 24 extensions. You go add multiples of both with add-on equipment such as a 2 or 6 port expansion card which feeds CO module(s) for trunk cards and Station module(s) for extensions.

Gotcha - So why when I try to add Line003 to an extension is there nothing there? In the trunks menu I have it setup the same as 001 and 002.

The system is ready for eight lines. Run your jumper to the next CO position, program line 003 onto sets and away you go.

If you've done that and it doesnt work it's possible the position doesn't work. Move to next cable pair and program line 004.

When you say "nothing is there", do you mean the display says "Line 003" and there is no dial tone? Or, what does the display say?

Do a button inquiry and see if you have properly assigned the line to that extension.

The early KSUs numbered there trunks with 2 digits 01 02 03 04 etc. Not 001 002 003. Maybe yours is an older unit

Well - when I go to terminal and sets, line assignment, only lines 1 and 2 show-up at all. It's not on the menu to change to appr or appr&ring. Normally on the CICS and MICS it will show the available lines 1,2,3,4,etc. even if there is nothing on the port.

There's no "Terminal & Sets" on a modular system.

You're talking TWO different systems. An 8x24 doesn't work that way. You have to add the line. If you don't know how, maybe get a qualified Nortel tech in there.

I understand. The issue I have is that half the time when I get a technician, I know as much as they do and they just call some other technician to walk them through it. I have no issue paying for tech support as long as the technician is more qualified than I am. I have to add a PRI to a system and have no idea how to add it and transfer the 20 lines from analog to the PRI and obviously I'll pay someone to do that. But adding one analog line on a 12 year old system shouldn't be that hard when I've done many on CICSs and MICSs and BCMs.
