I have a CICS 7.1 with a Norstar Flash VM. I have set up a Hunt Group in the CICS (x270), broadcast mode, with around 6 DN members. I set the Hunt Group to have a distinctive ring (#4).

In the Norstar Flash, I built a CCR tree with Path 1 to transfer to ext 270.

The problem is that many extensions are members of two different hunt groups. Since all of the extensions have line appearances, when calls are transferred they ring on the line key not the Hunt group key... this is why I have set the distinctive ringer. However, the distinctive ringer does not work for external calls, only intercom calls. The only phone it works on is the M7100 - I assume because there are no line buttons.

Any suggestions on how I can tell the difference between the two hunt groups (other than removing the line appearances)?

Doesn't the display reflect the fact that a call is from a particular hunt group? Other than that, I would say the only thing to do is remove those line appearances. Time for Park & Page folks!

The display only shows the Telco Caller ID ... which we still want. I know we can transfer and park, but we would rather have the line appearances with the traditional hold.

It would be nice if things just worked like we think they should work.

Hunt groups do not work on a phone that has line appearance of that line.

You will have to remove line appearances or not use hunt groups.

That's what I was afraid of ....
