Customer has a MICS 5.0 They want to put a external number into the CFNA (his cell phone). It does not work, the forward does seem to leave the Norstar, but telco (a Cincy Bell PRI) gives they get 3 tones(beep beep beep) then a hangup.
I tried external CFD by turning on redirect on that set and just forwarding the phone to his cell phone (9xxx-xxxx. It will ring in to the set's DID for a split second, but telco then says "This call cannot be completed as dialed"...)
Routing is basic, one destination code(9) that goes to the PRI. the destination code then says to asorb the 9
The kicker is that if i set up either External CFD using redirect and Feat 4, or placing the ext number in the CFNA field, and dial it from another INTERNAL extension...it works. If I dial the DID on that same phone, it does not work. I have the sneaky supsicion that either that 9 is getting out somehow, or that telco is not allowing this feature. Any ideas?

Two possible issues.
First you may need to add another I/C path to the phone.
Or. The telco needs to enable tandem trunking because the system is conferencing two channels and its being reject by the CO.

Thanks for the reply.
There is 2 intercom paths for the phone, I figure is a call comes in on a DID and goes put via forwarding only one intercom path is used for outbound, but I could be wrong, maybe the DID path in uses a intercom path also, but I doubt it, even so, 2 should be enough.
I am thinking it could be the CO, I would not be super suprised that Cincy Bell does not have tandem trunking enabled, but with a PRI, wouldnt they have to?

Sometimes I have seen where the caller ID is a problem. If the call in ID is getting sent out it does not match your DID Range and gets rejected. Have you played with the OLI# ? Have Telco check for ID going out.
If CON is the opposite of PRO Then what is the opposite of Progress?
