Hi Guys
I have been asked by a customer to support there Nortel BCM 50 for the next 3-4 months until I install a new samsung OS7100.
This is because BT has ripped them off with support and IP handsets for there home users that they couldnt ever get to work, even when BT installed a second broadband line for them.
I am moving it to there new purpose built premises, with a 10mb leased line, so hopefully should be able to get them up and running.
Can anyone supply me the installation guides, default passwords and software, as BT wont now its not on there support contract.
i usually support and install Samsung OS and Panasonics. and I should be able to easily find my way round the software.
Kind regards
Adam
PS any other info of inportants I may need will be happily accepted. PM me if required.
I downloaded the Business Element manager, Is this the main install manager for BCM50 ?

Note to OP: If they're under contract, the default passwords might have been changed.
Note to other posters: Please do not post those passwords here in the forum. If you MUST divulge this info, do so via PM or email. Be aware, that you could be held liable if the OP does not have authorization to have +/or use the info requested.

Hi
I wouldnt expect passwords to be posted on forum. And as far as liability is concerned, I am going to support the system for the next 3-4 months, until I tear it out, and install a Samsung system.
Also after that time the system will be up for sale if anyone is interested. If the price is right the customer will be happy to tear it out now. As they are not happy with it at all.
regards
Adam

Still wonders what OP stands for....
Yes Element Manager to program, also if you enter the BCM's IP address into a web browser you will get access to all the docs you need including software such as Element Manager.
My guess they wont be happy with the Samung either until they get their internet connections up to snuff. To many people want top grade performance on cheap DSL connections.

Sent PM, have manuals but files are often too large for email account, need something like gmail to receive them.
If you are PAYING for the service, you own the passwords and they need to be set to default bY BT.

The customer only want 4 external IP handsets currently, and have just had a 10meg leased line installed. So should be fine with the IP extensions.
