Customer was experiencing calls being disconnected when they put the calls from lines 1 & 2 on hold and go to page. We have literally exhausted all troubleshooting avenues including replacing the phone system. This issue continues to happen. We have replaced wiring from demarc to KSU, replaced phones, metered the CO lines and it still continues. We have engaged the phone company in the past with no success. We are engaging them again. Has anyone had this issue or have any suggestions?

I've seen this happen when the line voltage is too high with Nortel equipment. Are you sure that you have measured the line voltage and found it to be between 48 and 56 volts, DC?

Because this issue is so sporatic it is difficult to measure when this issue is happening. We have measured and the phone company has measured and found them to be within spec.

When you say "replaced the phone system", did you actually replace the line cards also?

What s/w are you running?

By any chance can you move lines 1 and 2 to line port 3 and 4?

Any chance there is something else going on in/near the building? Possibly happening on all lines but they don't notice it because receptionist normally is not placing more than the first two lines on hold?

We had an arc welder that gave us fits until we finally put it all together. He starts welding, phone system dropped calls. Just an idea.

Does it happen only when they access the paging system?

Sorry for taking so long but here is an update. The details I do not have but, Bell said there was a major voltage issue on Line 1. Line 2 was clean at the time. I'm glad they finally found an issue. I had to push really hard and tried not to be rude to get them to look closer.
