I dont install to many of the analog pana mostly digital but I picked up a new customer who had the door phones up and wanted me to put in the doorphone card and program 3 ext to ring. 2 days later he calls me and is saying he has his fax machine on jack 24 and is using the tvs 50 for fax det with no auto attendant anyways i dont have jack 24 set to ring when you push the door phone but if you dont answer at one of the 3 ext on the first ring on the second ring the fax answers it. Please help I called panasonic but for you digital certified guys out there you know how long of a wait you have along with the same boring music over and over again. Thanks for any help.

Slim, your going to have to go out there to see what's going on but if the fax is answering the door phone then it has to be ringing assignments. 700 day,701 night,& 702 lunch. Use the * as a wild card and disable all ports for day, night & lunch. Then go back in and activate the 3 ports you want to ring. As for the TVS auto fax detect, it has to answer that line before it can detect. If they want to use that CO line for voice in & out as well as fax their going to have to have the auto attendant answer that line immediately or answer it and manually transfer to Ext. 24 when they hear the fax CNG tone.

FWIW, it's generally a bad idea to use the fax detection that's built into a VPS or DISA module for a home system.
Fax detection only works if the VPS or DISA answers immediately, and auto attendant seldom works well in a home, because people move around.
"Press three for Stevie" is no good if Stevie is in Sally's room or the kitchen or family room.
In a business, people are more likely to stay in one place, so auto attendant is OK there.
