Can you guys give me any pointers on answering the always present question from the potential customer: Why should I choose digital over analog? When comparing the cost of an 816 to a 624 for a customer who needs 5 lines and 10 extensions, I can't really knock the 624.

Programming is much easier. Remote administration is available. Actual user of the 7400 series phones is easier. Digital integration with voicemail unit. XDP availabilty on 816. Your 816 is capable of 4 lines and 8 digital and 8 analog stations out of box with expansion abilities. I am sure some of the other guys are here will come up with more. I hate the 624 so i refuse to even bring up the things it can do.

I have to say I'm with my co-moderator Dan as I'm a little biased myself.
I work on the TA 624s but don't sell them.
I'd rather lower the cost if need be and put my customer into a digital.
As for noticing the difference between analog & digital, the end user will never know as long as they have the features they want.

We try to avoid the analog vs. digital debate and concentrate on features.

The 624 is often a better choice for residential installations because it can handle Caller ID on Call Waiting. The 7700 series phones are quite nice, and have 2.5mm headset jacks, so headset use is easier nad less expensive.

The 816 can have PC programming, multiple ring tones, and features that are more likely to be used in a business than a home. XDP is much less important now than it was 5-10 years ago, because of high-speed broadband.

Sell the feature package that is right for the customer, and forget about how the electrons are flowing inside the box.
