We have a customer site with a multi-cabinet Panasonic 576 that we maintained for years. I have always been able to get into programming via a display phone with the default password. Well today when I tried, I just got an error tone. I tried from many different ports and got the same result. I powered the system down for a few minutes and then back on, but that did not help either. I still cannot enter programming mode.
Now I'm thinking somehow it's possible the password got changed. The last thing I want to hear is that I will need to wipe out the database and reprogram, because I do not have a backup. Did I mention this is a 6 cabinet system with over 250 extensions and 250 CO's!
My next attempt will be with PCAS, but if it's a password issue that might be difficult.
I have an email into Panasonic tech support and I will be calling them after the holiday (I am Panasonic certified).

if you're dbs certified then you'll be ok. not a dbs expert but like the td side i don't think you can do anything. you're going to need support to dial in and fix.

Tech support gave me this tid-bit: try xxxxxxxxx. That got me into System Programming, where I proceeded to check and sure enough someone had changed the installer password!
I changed it back, connected my laptop and took a backup.

Hammer, Not to be mean. It's a good idea not to post that kind of info on a open board due to security issues. You can always e-mail it to other moderators or customers.

We recently started servicing several Panasonic 576HD systems. On three of the systems the default password worked but on the 4th it wouldnt even though the owner insists it never has been changed. I feel somehow it has been changed. Any help you could provide would be appreciated. You can e-mail me directly. thanks. Maybe try powering down completely and restarting the system.....I recently had trouble with a DBS 96. I was positive that the password hadn't been changed from the default. I tried over and over again. No luck.....so I restarted the system and it worked with no problem.
