[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com] Which slot are you puting it in?
The factory default is CO, Exp1, Exp2 from the BOTTOM UP
You can change the order in program field 109.
E1= expansion 1 and E2= expansion2
You do know that you can only have 2 of the port expansion cards, KX-TD 170 (or 171)on one cabinet?
Keep us posted

k here is what we have:

(im not a phone guy btw [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com] )

teh system a kx-td1232
it has:
a 4co
and 2 8EXT on it now.

the bottom 8ext doesnt even give battery. we swaped it with the top one and we know it works fine. but as soon as its pluged into the bottom slot, it give 0. in fact anything pluged into the bottom one gives notihing. is it possible that there is a "fuse" gone on the system ?

no fuse, check the pins and also check program 109 and see if that slot got assigned for something other then an 8 port expansion card.
also check all your wiring off the amp connecter,
if there is a short on the data pair of any port it can knock out that whole card.
Also take the amp connector from the new extensions and plug it in to the good card and see if all the extensions work. This will check the new wiring.
