Any idea what is wrong with the notify light on one of my extensions? That particualr phone set will light if plugged into another extension. The software says it is notifying the extension and all seems set correctly in the software. The entire system was recently moved from one office building to another office building. The notify light used to work just fine. The phone lines all work correctly. Occasionally, the extension will "forget" which extension it is, ie: the lcd display will read panasonic dbs 824 - instead of the date, time and extension. I repunched down the punch block and the patch panel wires to insure a good connection there. If I run another extension and use another hand set in that office it works ok so I don't think the wires in the plugs or walls are bad. Is there something inside the system itself (the big box) that could be wrong and affecting just the one extension? Help!!Thanks

Try to turn on the light by dialing 75xxxx# (xxxx = station number) to see if you can turn the light on manualy. To cancel dial 75xxxx*

do you mean just pick up the handset and dial 75xxxx# or enter the voice mail system first or what? I'm not sure I understand.

From any set go on intercom and dial 75 xxxx #
and see if the message waiting light turns on at the extension that you entered (xxxx)
do the same thing to turn it off but at the end use * instead of #
The message waiting light is not strictly for the voice mail.

Go to *another* phone
Lift handset
dial *4 XXX
The light will turn on at the extension number you dialed.

dial *5 XXX to turn the light off

OK. That works. I can turn the light off and on using *4xxx and *5xxx. Why will it not light for my voicemail notification?
