I have a digital 1232. We have the same (new) problem with 2 extensions: the can receive calls but cannot dial at all. changing phones didn't clear the problem. A msg "not Valid" apears on the secreen after 2 sec.

In system programming the first to check is program number 605 and/or 606. This program gives the stations outgoing permissions.

Thanks. I have checked it - its Ok (enabled) like all the other jacks. Any other idea?

check the COS on program 601
maybe there assigned a restricted COS.
If all programming is OK it is possible that someone simply locked those extensions.

Checked 601 - identical to all other jacks.If the extensions were locked it was done unintentionally - how can I unlock them??
BTW - its impossible to to make an internal call as well as to outside line.
These jacks worked properly until recently.

I would e mail you the procedure but you did not provide a complete profile when you registered.
Look on page 292 of your user manual.

YS, try pressing INTERCOM and then dial 790 quickly. This might clear the problem if Mr.G hasnt already fixed you up.

I'm not quick enough. I can't dial the 790 quickly enough before the "Not Valid" appears.
My last hopr is Mr. G instructions to unlock an extention

The best way is with the phone hung up (handset in craddle) press INTERCOM 790. This can be done in a second and "usually" clears the problem. If the phone is truely locked, then this will not work.
