Hello,

I'm setting up a Panasonic DBS with digital cards and the PanaVoice voice mail system. I've configured permanent call forwarding to the VM pilot extension for all busy/no answer situations, as well as programming the call forward ID codes for individual extensions.

It almost works great. The voice mail system is configured to release callers after initiating a transfer to an extension. A call to the extension, when not answered, is routed back to the voice mail system. Only, if the call forward ID is set to the user's extension, then the voice mail system treats the transfer as a new call and tries to route the caller to the extension again, setting up an infinite loop. If the call forward ID is set to the personal ID, then the caller is prompted for the user's security code, as if checking messages.

How do I program the call forward ID to send the caller back to the voice mail system so that the caller then hears the extension's greeting, and then is processed by the Action After Greeting?

on/off, program, auto * extension, extension, hold, on/off.

Usually this works with the extension number being entered twice. If that doesn't work I have another one for you.

So concise, thank you.

But unfortunately we've tried [ on/off, program, auto * extension, extension, hold, on/off ].
We've also tried [ on/off, program, auto * extension, personal id, hold, on/off ].

The subscriber boxes have three stages: Transfer / Greeting / Action. The Transfer is set to release. I'd really like to avoid both Await Answer and Await for Ringback. With the first option (your recommendation) the phone transfers the call back to the subscribers mailbox, but the voice mail system starts over at the transfer stage, transferring the call back th the extension, which then doesn't answer and the phone transfers the call back to the subscribers mailbox.... which then starts over at the Transfer stage again. This is an endless loop.

The second option routes the caller to the subscribers mailbox as the subscriber. The caller is then prompted for the subscribers security code.

In addition to the programming steps above we've done the following two steps:
[ prog## / F3# / system port # / 42# / 1# ] - enable permanent call forwarding on busy/no answer
[ prog## / F3# / system port # / 43# / voice mail pilot port# ] - transfer busy/no answer callers to the voice mail pilot extension

I am very interested in hearing your second option.

When you enter the call fwd id string try putting a 2 after the mbx number e.g. 1232.
This should over ride the transfer of the panavoice.
