I have a computer that was 98 running DBS manager and I just updated to XP. Now i get a message saying, "No Hardware key Installed" I havent changed the key or even taken it off. Is it possible to make the XP system recognize the hardware key?

Plasmud, I personally don't do anything with the DBS.
Maybe our good friend Joe at https://www.austintele.com/ will chime in.

I've always used it with Windows 98 so...I'm no help but if you find out could you let me know. I'm actually getting ready to load XP on my laptop so...it would be nice to know before I actually do it.

dbs manager for 40/72/96 is not compatable with windows xp, only windows 98. I tried forever to get it to work, no luck.

if you want to be able to use dbs manager you may want to partition your hdd and run multiple os's a small partition for 98 and the larger one for xp.

If it isn´t too late. DBS Manager ( for Win95/98) needs to work on a FAT 32 disk partition while XP is usually NTFS. Just free some space and create one. Hope this
is of some help.
