Hello,
I've recently inherited the job of administering our KX-TD1232 phone system. It is configured with (2) KX-TD1232 units and (1) KX-TVS100 My problem is this:
My predecessor wired 2 phone jacks together to make one hardwired ring group x210. This has created a big mess bare wire and dolphin clips on my newly managed patch panel. What I'd like to do is give each phone an extension (210 and 211 in this case) and create a hunt group that makes both phones ring when anyone calls extension 210.
Here's what I've done so far:
1) I've created an extension group EXG#3 that contains Jack 10-2 and 11-2 (x210 & 211)
2) Created Hunt Group #3 and set to RING
So what am I missing? When I call x210 only 210 rings, and not 210 + 211 as expected. Are there other settings that need to be entered? Please help.
I have access to the 1232 manual and the KX-TD1232 programmator software v1.29.16 and or programming interface via digital extension. (all changes to this point have been made using the digital phone interface)
Thanks for your input.
Louis

Thank you I was under the impression that you could assign the call group extension, but I guess not... My users will be unhappy that they can't keep the same extension structure. Perhaps next time, they’ll take a little extra time and do the job right then they won't have room to complain. . . haa who am I kidding… Thanks again for your help!

There is a location to change the floating numbers for groups. You can use any unused number like 200 for the group but each extension has its number to reach it directly.

You can use 210 if you want but you will have to remove it 1st by assigning port 10-2 another number. Then change the default # for ring group 3. It can be a PITA when you start reassigning the extension numbers.
