I have had a couple of groups set up on our system by the engineers and he's put them on 292 and 293.

I had intended to use the groups for call forwarding - for example when someone is out of the office and a call comes in it will ring all the other members of the group to take the call. However when I try to forward to a 29x extension I get "Not Valid" on the handset.

Any ideas?

1st you should chk the group so ring the group 292
see if the exts ring if they do then you know the grp setup is right as well as the numbering plan
if they dont then the numbering plan is most likly the fault.
2nd if it worked then put a manual forward on a phone (ie 206) off hook type 7105292 the fwd/dnd light should start flashing if so hang up and ring that ext 206
see if it forwards
the above coad works like this
710 = forward (or = the fwd/dnd button )
5 = the type of forward (can also be 2 )for different type of forward)
292 = the location you want the forward to go to.
to cancle the forward off hook fwd/dnd button then 0
also the 7105292(293)can be placed on a button
but you can test above before we get to that.....

The groups work fine when called - all the extensions ring as they should and the group name displays on the phone.

I have no problems with call forwarding to an individual extension, the operator or the voicemail but as soon as I press the 9 for 29x group number it beeps and comes up not valid.
