Client can't access the TVS-120 to make changes.
The Reception workstation uses Hyper-terminal to access the system. It has always worked fine, but a few days ago they were connected, left it unattended and it timed out and disconnected.
Since then they have not been able to connect.
I verified the H-T paramaters and they are correct. (9600, 8, N, 1, No flow control)
Tried to connect with my lap top also, but did not work. Rebooted TVS. No go.

I found this info from a search on TVS-120 and sounds like something maybe I should try?

If that dosen't do it you may have to set the rotary switch to 1, turn it off, connect the laptop with Hyperterm running and turn it on.
That will reset the RS232 parameters without
effecting anything else.
Has anyone ran into this type of problem before?

I'm not real familiar with this system, so I'm looking for guidence and suggestions.

Thank you.

Rich

The position "1" just resets the RS 232 parameters to 9600,8,N & 1
Hyperterm is fine, no flow control and do not use auto detect.
You didn't forget the NULL modem cable did you?

Thank you for the response.
Yes, had null modem in connected.

Am I interpreting this correctly? Position 1 resets the RS 232 parameters in the TVS-120 ? ( my interpretation ) or.... is the TVS-120 resetting the parameters in Hyperterm of the connected PC?

it just returns the TVS units to the rs232 default.
it does not default the system, that would be position 5
