I've got a 123211D, but no phones for it.. It appears that I can program it via the serial port, but I need to know if there is anything that requires a phone? It's probably only going to be used with single line phones..
Also, does anybody have a crib sheet for the serial port settings?

Programming via a serial port on that thing is VERY complex. In ten years of selling those systems, I never once programmed one via the serial port. It uses a language that is extremely difficult to follow, similar to DOS commands. You will be much better off getting a KX-T7030, 7035, 7730 or 7731 phone to perform all programming from the first extension.

Ok.. humor me..
Lets say that I want to write my own scripts to allow me to program from the serial port..
(I'm a unix/networking guy.. I'm used to tweaking sysflags, etc.. before that I was a cp/m user..
and I'm at home in cisco IOS.. limited text based command sets don't bother me..)
So far, from my limited poking at it, it appears to be a very limited command set, and a bunch of parameter fields that I can read/alter the values of.
given a crib sheet, it dosen't look that hard, just tedious..

I have the manual for the EIA procedures for programming via the serial port. If you want to pay me a few bucks for postage, I'll send it to you. Personally, any Panasonic doccumentation from the 1980's was easier to read when held up to a mirror! Maybe you will understand it.
