In the office that I work from, we have a Panasonic DBS576. The guys that work for me have gotten pretty good at figuring most of the system out without any support or maintenance contracts in place. However, there is one thing that they cannot figure out. The cannot figure out how to broadcast the phone number from which an extension user is dialing from when making outbound calls. IE - if ext 6012 dials to the outside world, instead of seeing 480-222-5555 the receiver of the call sees 480-555-xxxx which is the phone number assoicated with the PRIs connected to our phone system. How do we change this? Thanks.

you may not be able to do that on the 576 you may want to look in the manual under clid and qsig and see if the 576 even supports that feature .

What SNCSNC said, PLUS, the local service provider must have your PRI set up to allow your switch to send the CPDN. Some LEC's mask this information with the billing telephone number regardless of what your switch is sending out.

The DBS 576 does support that feature. Refer to the programming manual under ISDN Calling Number Send.

All, thanks for you help with this. My guys and I were pretty sure that this was the case. However, you know upper management. Whenever you tell them that a system can't do something, they no longer consider you the expert and what you to get outside opinions. However, whenever you ask them first if you can get outside help (bring in a 3rd party to help) upper management seems confused because in their opinion you're supposed to be the expert. My team and I wanted to get some outside opinions so we can go back to upper management and say "Hey, we can't do it, and see here's other people that do what we do that agree." Thanks all.
