Hi I am afraid I am extreme newbie to this. I normally work in IT support. As skills are limited in Mallorca I have just installed a KXTES824E with disa card. Disa is working for the phone system however because ogm1 answers for you to select the extension you wish, the time delay before the fax is ready to answer a fax call, the fax the other end is gone. Is there anyway sooner for disa to detect a fax call, say at the start of the disa answer as the other fax has already started polling. I have set the fax up in the disa settings but my fax takes too long to answer. Please help

Go into function settings of fax and set it to fax only and answer immediatly, or the lowest number of rings allowed.

Sorry forgot to mention that the fax is set to fax only, and to answer after 2 rings. If I change to one this will not make enough difference. The disa aa system answers the incoming line with ogm1 giving you your extension choice. If no extension is chosen the call goes to fax. However with this time delay the sending parties fax has disconnected or not polling. Is there any way that the fax part of the disa aa system can be altered to recognise the polling fax early on in the disa aa cycle

I would think it's pretty much the same as here in the U.S. Once the DISA answers and the sending fax is sending a CNG tone it should transfer immediately. Are you sure your fax machine is set to answer immediately. Maybe the transfer is actually taking place but the fax is set for 5 or 6 rings. Try calling the fax extension from another extension and se how long it takes to answer. MrG

I have played for hours with the differnt disa settings and the fax is set to answer immediatly. If I dial from another extension it answers immediatly. Also when a client dials in and receives the ogm to select an extension if they do not select an extension they get sent to fax and this too is causing massive problems and missed calls. Has anyone an idea of what i am doing wrong

Assuming it's the same as here in the U.S. field 503 should have the fax extension # in it. You may need to increase the time in field 505, this is the amount of time the disa card keeps detecting DTMF tones or CNG after the out going message has played. Field 514 should be set to 1, this is the number of times the CNG has to be detected. Field 510 tells the system what to do if there is no CNG or DTMF, it's probably set to intercept in which case you more then likely have the fax extension entered in intercept extension field. Check all this out and we'll go from there. MrG

Tried all the above and the fax and disa do not like each other. IE to long before the fax answered that the fax the other end gave up, when a call went to the group and no one answered the call the fax did even if it was not in the group. So given up putting fax on disa and given it its own independent line and removed fax from disa and low and behold everything works perfectly. Will definately not reccomend any one putting fax on disa what a nightmare.
