Client has a Panasonic 616 and insists their single-line answering machine used to answer all lines. I (a Nortel guy) recently moved the system and hooked up the answering machine ahead of the phone system to line 1.

Is there a port on the system which allows the answering machine to answer all (3) lines?

Thanks in advance!

Danny, any port that is programmed to ring on all 3 lines should accept this.
I would put it on it's own port though so that it can answer if your on the phone.

Thanks. All fixed. I didn't know the Panasonic ports were analog. I plugged in a butt-set and got a hum when off-hook. Plugged in the answering machine and it works!?! Nortel ports are digital and you must use an Analog Terminal Adapter for cordless phones, fax machines & answering machines.

Huh...you learn something new every day.

Thanks again!
