If you only need one extension extension to ring set dil ring to that extension and put that on busy no answer to bv.if only setting up when cutsomer is going out put dil to ext in night mode so they can set turn on and off.

If you want more extensions to ring first, you have to cheat.
you need a spare extension and co port.
Loop ext to spare co port put that to dil to disa or extension on forward to bv. set the extension to delay ring 3-4 rings. So when call comes in it will ring normaly when ext on delay ring goes to co 3 port it will follow dil table to BV. a bit of runaround but it works. easier to put on answering machine but sometimes we sell these things, and have to get them working to save face.

It runs to mind that Panasonic said specifically that the BV was it's answer to a low cost voice mail and that if you needed anything more elaborate, you had to put in a TVA/TVS. It is NOT an autoattendant.

The built-in DISA card can sort of function as an AA, but there is no incercept. It answers the call and you use the menu structure (dial 1-0 for these guys), THEN the intercept to the BV would occur. I would imagine that if you wanted to direct it to all phones, you direct it to a hunt group, although it would be a kludge since you only have terminal or circular.

I don't have a clue where the unanswered call would go.

whoa: maybe that is my problem. are you saying that it will not do intercept. do you mean that it will only answer calls immediately? i can get it to answer immediately but the customer wants it to answer after three or four rings. just looking in the program it makes reference to intercept. one other thing. does the disa require a disa card and is disa and 2 channel voice messageing two different functions. i thought it was all one thing.

An 824 has one DISA channel built in. I have only used the DISA to play an announcement and hang up if nothing was dialed. We had a store that was opening in a couple of weeks and had hired all the staff. The announcement said applications were still being accepted and the date of the grand opening, dial 0 to reach a person and we used the circular hunt to ring phones.

The BV will IRNA to a mailbox after timeout, but as far as I can remember, DISA answers the call on whatever delay you choose, but once you set a trunk for DISA it does not ring any phones.

yeah once i set it for disa it did not ring the phones. but is that the same thing as the voice messaging card. since it is a 2 channel card does it give you 2 channels of disa. also if the trunk is set for disa and someone calls, after they hear the greeting if they press 1 does it ring ext 101, 2 ring 102 ect or is that something that you program. i did not see anywhere in programming where you could define dial actions.

The 824 is over sold IMHO. We have sold a few to larger companies and it doesn't do near what it needs to but you know how sales people are.

We sold one to a medium sized law firm and luckily, they didn't want VM for each lawyer. I did have to set up DISA to answer Line 1 during lunch and after 5PM and during weekends. Non of the phones ring when the DISA is working. It answers the call and directs the caller to dial 1 to leave a messege. The caller then gets directed to the receptionist's VM. It works well for that but anything more complicated would be a nightmare.

We missed the TDA-50 :-). When the price dropped on the 100, I can actually demonstrate to a customer that it is more better to use the 100 with an "S" power supply in certain applications, instead of the 50, and the price difference is minimal.

We also carefully market the 824. It works great in bars and restaurants and small businesses that don't need VM, like the mom amd pop shops. In one restaurant chain, they prefer the 824 over the TAW/TDA's because of the built-in DISA, CID, and restricted line access. You press a line and the Auto Answer button flashes for you to put your 4 digit code in. Once you do, it gives you dial tone. A lot easier than dialing 47 xxxx and whatever else.

Now my office du jour system this quarter is a TAW-848 with all the cards.
