I installed this system in a house with 16 phones. His old house had a Comdial Impact DSU. He was able to secretly monitor his teenage wild daughters phone calls. Is he able to do this with the new system. I sold him this system be cause of the cost and features, but the language of the sales brochure said it would monitor, but again this is something compleatly different. TIA. :shrug:

No, the TA has no Service Observing mode. You can monitor outside lines with other equipment, but it may not be legal in most states. Try https://www.omnicronelectronics.com/tc/telecorder_p1.htm for a link. Carl

Swap it out for the TAW848, he can use the same phones and he'll be able to monitor.

There is a "room monitoring" feature that may have been confused for the feature he's looking for.
It does support executive busy overide.
You would have to be quick on the mute button and I don't believe the TA 824 will allow you to remove the tone, although I'm not sure.
