Mr. James whitehead asks:  I have a KXTD1232 and want to have certain phones all ring at once, but only certain nominated extentions, so for example if an external person rings a number (xxxx) xxxxxx then it ring 3 or 4 phones all at the same time. I cannot figure out what I need to do, I have a hunt group which works but only rings one ext then the next etc. Thanks in advance, James.

Thank you MrGemini, I dont understand how the ring groups work, and how they work differently to a hunt group.

A ring group will ring all phones in that group at the same time. A hunt group searches for extensions logged in and searches according to how it is set up. Circular or terminating. MrG

Put the extension you want to ring in there own extension group in program 602. I'm not sure of your default extension numbers on the UK versions, I know they are different then the US version. Program 813 should show you the default settings for "floating number assignments" You would assign the DDI to the extension number of that group. OBT and Peter Doyle are both familiar with the UK versions. Maybe one of them could help us out? MrG.

Ring group, but that's only if you need to ring the group by dialing 1 extension number, (that for the group) If your looking for only 4 specific phones to ring on incomming calls, that would be done through a different program. James, if your not familiar with programming this system I would suggest you call in a certified Tech. MrG

Thank you all, I have managed to sort it now anyway using my laptop and serial cable and the Panasonic software, just added ext to a hunt group which was set to ring, then in the DDI section I set the hunt group number to be used for the ddi, simple really.

Ok I got the ext to ring if they were in a group, but what we actually want is.
1 Ext rings 4 times or so, then hands over to say 5 other exts that ring all at the same time, how do I go about this, the floating ext did not work.
