I installed the CID card, programed the CO lines, and all works well - but not on the analog ports. I have a cordless phone hooked up to an XDP, but it shows no caller ID. Am I missing something, or is that typical?
Yes, I am retired - so why am I still working on phones?

unless you have a KX-TD 171 you won't get caller id on single line sets and they were lone wolfs not a very common card and if you find one you'll only get caller id on one slt like the kx-td 308

This is something that the manuals are not clear on. The manuals say that CID will work on a SLT connected to a XDP port. There is no mention of the 171 being required for CID on the XDP port.
So, what you are saying is that the only way to get CID on an XDP port is to have a PTS w/XDP port connected to ports one or two of the 171 module?
I've been trying to figure this out for a while now....

The Feature is pretty clear. Page 71 Feature manual : For standard telephone users, an eight station line unit with SLT Caller ID must be installed. This card give 8 extensions including either 1 of 2 extensions that can have the SLT Caller ID. Program 133 determines which extension can have CID. Only 1 per 171 card. Farther down the paragraph it explains that the SLT ext must be in XDP mode.

Because I wanted clarification on the subject and saw no need to start a new topic.....
brokeda- The manual says: "A standard telephone, connected with a digital proprietary telephone by the XDP feature can receive Caller ID information." There is no mention of the 171 being required, in that paragraph, that is what thru me off. Thanks.
