Just thought I'd pass this along. This is not in any manuals that I could find and figured this out during an upgrade of a TDA 200 to a TDA 600 with two cabinets. Basically the 200 had 4 portable stations using two channel access points. After the upgrade you can reregister the portable stations without a problem. You can make 1 call and 1 call only with them then you are unable to use them. If they are powered down then on again you can still make only 1 call. To fix this unregister the phones if you already registered them. Then upgrade your two channel access points using the files on kxtsupport.com. Once you do that reregister the phones and they will work each time. I only figured this out because I tested a portable station more than once. Hope this saves some one some time on their upgrade.

Yes, it's a good idea to upgrade all components when upgrading software or expanding a system. They also will not handoff cabinet to cabinet without this. It applies to 2 and 3 channel CS. You may also have to upgrade DLC and CSIF card.

MrG, good point! Ben, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! (As an aside, I personally am not certified on the TDA and work with it very little. That said, I'll never understand why the FOUR certified folks here Never went to the Panasonic web-site and looked for a cure! I was Ops Mgr at my last position for 12 years. I had 5-15 tech bulletins cross my desk every month and I read every one of them and made sure all techs got a copy. And read them! And when the various manufacturers we sold set up tech web sites, I checked them once a week. Oh well, enough rant) John C.

by the by panasonic does not mention this as being as problem. thanks to this site i fixed the issue. however when you do the firmware upgrade you have t reregister the portable sets by delteing the system from the portable stations .force deregistering the portables in the system and reregistering the stations. man that was a mouthful
WHEN THE ANSWER COMES EASY.... YOU MUST HAVE PAID ATTENTION IN CLASS
