This is my first post and sadly it's a question.

I am installing a 824 with TVA50. My qestion is when a call is xfered from the custom menu > after "please wait" how can I enable music on hold while the EXT picks up the call?

Questions are fine, that's why we're here!
1st of all, you need a sorce, radio, CD player,
on hold plus unit, whatever.
Connect it to the TA824. Remember, it takes a mono input, 8 ohm.
The TA824 should be set on "external" by default but if you need to check or change it then go into program field 111.
That's all there is to it.

So if it is 8ohm a line level input will not work?

You can put a line level output into it.
there is a small pre-amp built into the TA824.
