Page deny activation may not work on cordless. Never tried. Plug in a regular key phone and turn it on if it is available, then plug 7896 base back in.
As noted before, cordless PITS should be on,
or call your vendor. Or turn it off when not needed, it's very simple, you recpt should be able to handle it.

I tried the page deny on both the cordless and a regular wired digital set before posting, neither worked.

Turning it on and off might work in theory, but I know damn well it won't get done - the set takes ~3 seconds to power off/on and after she has to do that more than once it won't happen again - she's up and down constantly and waiting for that won't fly.

what about cordless pits option or dnd did you try that?

The 7896 cordless acts like a 7000/7700 series telephone you may have to use one of these phones to turn it on and then swap back the cordless. dont see why it wont let you deny.
If cordless pits was off and extension port was set to expd the cordless should work as standard cordless phone and wont get page.
