Trying to do my first e-mail intergration on a TVA50. Not super up on IP side of things. Programed the name and e-mail address. ALSO ENABLED BOTH POP and SMTP puttin in the same as used for standard e-mail on a computer and password. Also went under mailboxes and enabled the feature plus put in the corrent mail address. So far nothing. When I check the e-mail address that I am using for the voicemail there are no errors. I also connected my laptop to the patch cord and switch with no problems. I am able to check both internet and my personal e-mail with no modifications. I am sure I am just missing some silly little thing and hope to get pointed in the right direction.
Also is there any way to set up a directory using the dial by name feature for off site personell. In other words, they want to have names that when chosen it does not go to an extension. Instead it will go to an external phone number. I know I can do this using the external forward on stations, but these people do not have extensions. I am pretty shure that this can not be done.
Thanks
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie. First of all have you in each mailbox settings enabled e-mail with new messages and attach wav with e-mail.
second you have to setup mail account for voicemail i.e [email protected] on your mail server and in system parameters, e-mail settings
1. enable e-mail
2. set up ip address of mail server
3.enter e-mail of voicemail i.e. [email protected].
This should work as long as the voicemail lan card is on the same ip range as mail server make sure this is set up in utility - lan settings ( you have to be connected to vm to access this)

As for names for off site personal. just set up incoming call groups with forward to outside number and set up mailbox's on voicemail unit and name them the persons name for outside call forward and set mailbox as extension number same as group on system. this will act the same as station fwd with out needing a extension
