It sounds like it's not completing the call right or something because half the calls I make have some kind of noise on the line, I know it's not on my lines. It's the switch. Do you think it will be replaced anytime soon? Thanks!

This is really a non-issue for this board. Aside from theorizing what the problem might be and curiosity you really don't belong getting involved with the technical aspects of this problem. It's a TELCO issue and about all you can do is complain to them or change your service.

-Hal Hal, You do have Telco people on this board … At minimum accurate insight into what’s going on, on the other side of the demark can be a useful tool for locust43.

I seriously doubt that Bellsouth will give him the time of day considering that he is just a subscriber and the minor nature of his complaint.
Bad enough the way they treat us vendors and we often know more than they do...

If you have gone through the normal repair service you may want to try a Public Service Commission complaint. These are a great way of getting someone’s attention. Have documentation of the trouble and how often it happens. Have the dates and times that you have reported it to Bellsouth. Sometimes the threat of a commission complaint gets attention. If not make a call or send a letter. Your state should have documentation as to what constitutes acceptable service. Switch maintenance and capacity issues are probably part of this document. This may help you as well.

Thanks, I will do that. If they can't fix it I will have to switch to digital service. Repair told me it's an inside wire problem which is Bull because it happens to only ceartain numbers I call. Ill file a Public Service Commission Complaint if they can't do anything about it.
