on A little TA 624, full blown with a TVS 50. TVS on ports 15 & 16 using APITS. All extensions have voice mail. From Ext. 101 you can not access the voicemail. Dialing 115 or 116 simply shows 'not valid" A system reset didn't help. This Ext. 101 acts as the receptionest. She can call and transfer to any other extensions and voicemail transfer works fine. All other extensions can access their voicemail. I have never seen or heard of this. I have no idea what could be causing this. --------------------- MrG

i also have no idea what would cause this. as a test, i would try going into prog 131 and removing 15 & 16 as apits ports, plug in a phone into 115 and see if 101 can then call 115. then re-enable 15 and 16 in prg 131.
you might just have un-explainable corrupted data. if resetting prg 131 doesn't help and nobody else has a solution your're looking at re-initilizing.

...or move the VM to 7 & 8 and test.
Can you dial the VM from other stations?

Could it be that they have fwd the extension using 71 91 or 92 then mailbox no # 91 will send ext no to vm and 92 uses #6 and ext no. could be causing a not valid fron system if the wrong string is being sent. after that, I am stumped. if it is getting not valid back it has to be the telephone system getting a wrong number.

KLD, Yes, all other stations are fine.
CW, I did delete MBX 101 and still couldn't call 115 or 116. I also did a 79#. No difference
OBT, any other station can call 101 or 0 and the set rings. I did forget about the follow on ID being sent automaticly. I'm going to take a closer look at that. Thank you all. ------------------ MrG

you must make sure that 101 is set as the ext for mailbox 101 on the tvs that may cause follow on id problems.... also for giggles change her ext to 100 and create a mailbox 100 set fwd/bna to 115 and see if the problem persists.

try what county wide mentioned. but if the problem was with the follow-on-id or mbx settings settings, i think you would probably get a wrong mbx or get the main greeting or get mbx998. but your phone display says "not valid" which tells me your call is not even getting to the vm system. i think something in the phone system is restricting you from dialing the vm. and i'll admit i still have no idea what would stop only ext101 from dialing 115 or 116.
with this "stumper" i think that we are looking for a needle in a haystack and that the needle might not even exist. personally, if i was on site,i would spend 15-30 minutes trying a few things mentioned in these posts, and if i still had the problem i would just re-initialize.
i know we would love to figure out a stumper like this instead of defaulting the system, but remember, "time=money". having a tech spend a half a day on a "stumper" or going back 2 or 3 times is non-productive and makes it harder to meet payroll and other expenses at the end of the week. sometimes its just more feasable/cost-efective to have a tech give up troubleshooting, and then re-initialize the system, reprogram and get out of there. especially on a 624 which should take no more than 10-20 minutes to reprogram.

The customer wasn't as concerned about it as much as I am. It ticks me off. I'll get back there some time this week and figure out whats going on. I agree it has to be in the TA624 as at the very least I should get the main menu. It will probably be a freeby but I want to know what's causing this. :bang: Thanks
