If you haven't heard tales you haven't been around the tvs product enough .Rule of thumb at least on the tvs since there is no lan connection is unless the customer begs me the voice mail ports never are allowed outdialing privileges. On a small keysystem it's a giant resource hog ,whats wrong with dialing in once or twice a day or calling in on backdoor line once or twice a day.To check for pitched messages.

they are set up with auto attendant so there is no way for me to monitor the calls that come in.. they are not on the network, someone is dialing in and i guess knows the passwords to the admin mailbox or some mailbox and they are transfering out to make international calls

theres something else I never use or refer to it as the auto attendant. I never use that auto attendant function .I only use Custom dialing menu's and if you deny outgoing line access to all voice mail ports on the KX-TD that the voicemail is on theres no way they can do what you describe and you also turn off outdialing in tvs class of service settings.

That happened to one of our customers about two years ago, in fact I actually posted here about it. Panasonic systems are widely popular world-wide and easy targets for hackers. They auto dial numbers and hit the typical Panasonic default codes and get in with the basics.
I learned the hard way it's imperative that you assign passwords to both the administrator's and programmer's mailboxes. If you don't, you are asking for trouble.

shut off outgoing line access on the ports that the tvs are on untill you learn the system better and what the heck is going on
