Hey guys and gals.
Need a little advice.
I have a customer wanting a cordless phone that works in his shop. The system that I will be providing is an NEC DSX 40 with analog station ports.
I have been thinking the engenius durafon but am not a dealer. Is there another alternative that anyone has any good luck with in a loud shop enviroment.
Thanks. Brian.

Are the analog station ports just regular FXS Lines? If so, I'd just go get a phone from Best Buy/etc. If not, does NEC have an ATA for that system?
I always advise that cordless phones be commodity-based because what will inevitably happen is they will get dropped, broken, smashed, stepped on, welded on, machined on, etc.
No ruggedized phone i've seen stands up to arc welders or heavy machinery. It's a lot easier to replace a $40 phone then a $400 one.

Motarolla has a cordless phone radio combo that looks interesting I haven't had the opportunity to try one yet range is reported to be good if noise is th issue look at the clarity cordless you may have interference with any cordless in a machine shop enviorment
