OK, 1st I'm a NorTel tech w/ very limited Pan. exp. What I have is a model KX-T123211D system, it has 2 lines now, I'm trying to add 2 more lines, I have them in system now but lines 3&4 on phones say no co avail. (or something to that effect) I went to Prog. jack and plugged in a KX-T7030 n put to PITS but unable to prog. phone lines. I put in 40 n it comes up tones when i hit 4, can i use this phone to prog. this system? and am i missing something b4 putting in 40 and is 40 correct to prog lines in? any help would be appreciated. you can use the 7030 set as manager only port 1 on system can program. you also have to enter main programming on the system. do you have password?

i actually have some software for that system if i can find it that allows you to progran thru the eia port

whoever installed system has a jack in phone room that says programming jack, i used that

i pulled up a manual online, it says you MUST use a kxt123230 or kxt123235 phone, it doesnt mention a password in it, i know from prog. the newer systems what the default password is

There is no password. You take a -30 phone and plug it into jack 1. Look on the left side of the cabinet on the side near the back in the middle next to the MOH and Paging ports. That black switch has 3 positions and it is normally in the middle. Slide it down and the phone goes into programming.

Biztel, Sorry about leading you off track with the password,So long since I did a kxt 1232 I forgot about the switch. County Wide, you could program those systems with terminal if you wanted but you had to put the switch up and it knocks out the whole system while doing it, wont do that again
