I've just installed a 824 to replace a 616. I'd like to just add stand-alone caller ID boxes to the extensions that have non-display PT's. Is this possible or must I purchase display PT's to replace the non-display ones? When I tried the boxes in paralell (spliter), the boxes won't work and when I tried them in series with the PT's, the PT's won't work. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

you have to to allow for caller id to slt on prog 142. try turning on paralled telephone in prog 610
But I think the fsk caller id is not sent when a key set is used, try those settings if no joy plug in the caller id unit on its own, if it works then you need a 7730 phone

Well, that didn't work! I tried the programs on an extension that two outlets wired in paralell. I tested both outlets with a PT and it worked in both places. I then enabled paralelled (program 610) on that extension and then tested program 142 (SLT ring ratio) on all of its settings (1:2, 1:3, and 1:4). Nothing worked. So, what's plan B?

Sorry looked at wrong code it is 628 for slt caller id not 142, on same page ring ratio leave that @ 1:2.

To send caller ID to simgle line devices on the TA824 you need to activate in program 628. Use the * to represent all extensions. I never tried it in parallel but I'm sure you would need that on as ringing would need to be sent to the CID unit. ---------------------- MrG
