im really sorry ... im new in this field...

just bear with me.

i have a KX-TVA50 vps hooked up to a KX-TA824 hybrid analog system.

i set up everything correctly i think,
everything seems to be working fine and im getting all the features that i want,

BUT, i do not know how to access the GENERAL Mailbox.

i need to access it so whoever doesn't know my company personel extensions or for new customers who leave message on the General mailbox...

so my question is... how to i get into the General mailbox and access the VM's?

thank you in advance!

I never use the built in GD Mail Box 998
I send no dtmf response and general delivery
calls to the receptionists or office mgr's mailbox let them sort it out and forward the messages to the proper place....

true, if the programming is set up correctly about 998 calls out of 1000 will never reach mbx 998.

Now, to answer the original question, #6 *998 gets you to mailbox 998.

The idea is to keep users out of the mailbox, but sometimes the default will be 998 from broken transfers.

Make a Gen box Ext200 or 101
point all custom services to time out/ zero out to 200 0r 101
make operator 200 or 101
make 998 move message from itself to 200 or 101 to cover the back door.
Put msg button for 200 or 101 on any phone that needs it.
