Here's the scenario:
Customer purchased 2 systems and ordered his own telco, pots lines for each systems.
After installation of the 2 systems (2 different towns) I found out the the customer wanted to have all call come in to site A and then transfer call to site B. I explained that this would mean a trunk-trunk connection, use up 2 trunks in site A and have possible volume issues.
And of course, the volume became an issue, and the customer is looking for a solution.
I have 2 solutions:
1.) OPX stations from site A terminate as trunks in site B. This way customer can still use 7731 sets and voice mail at site B. Not sure if volume will still be an issue.
2.) OPX stations from site A to single line phones in site B. Users in site B are programmed on the site A voice mail.
Does anyone have any other solutions? Are there any devices that will allow extending 7731 sets tp off-site facilities. Any known Voip units that might work?
Thanks!

I'd look into Multi-Tech's "MultiVIOP" gateways at www.multitech.com or 800-328-9717. They are actually recommended by Panasonic and Avaya for use in these applications.

Will the allow you to extend PT set, such as a 7731?

No, it just allows you to do the SLT-CO type connectivity without the monthly cost of OPX circuits. It's really your only option without changing both systems out to TDA's and reusing the sets.
