Sorry for my ignorance, but I have a quick question. I inherited this TDA50/TVS 50 set up as square, 8X12. The customer would like to be able to monitor who the call is being transferred to from any phone. Example: They are meeting in Tom's office, hear the phone being blindly transferred by their crack receptionist to an extension, but cannot tell where it is going by looking at the Tom's set until its too late (VM). All phones have all sets and lines shown. If they saw it was Tim's phone, Tim could run and get it in his office (small office space). I know, it is best to use hold, and not blind transfer on a square system, but I'm not sure this gal is trainable.

if you have spare buttons on toms phone you could set up dss buttons which will light if the phone is in use or ringing

I do have it set up as dss, and it shows in use, but not ringing.

There's a setting in the system where you can make the DSS key flash on incoming calls. By default that feature is off.

That is what I'm looking for - any clue as to where that setting is?

94astro, most people hate seeing all the dss lights light up when most of the phones ring on incoming call.
Look in system> system options> option 4 tab, dss mode for incoming call

OBT, I agree - but this is an office of 8 ITS engineers. Need I say more?
Thanks for the help, however, I am only familiar with keyset programming. Do you know the corresponding program?
Which begs another question - With only one Panasonic client, is PC programming that much easier that it would make it worth my while to procure the s/w? Which begs even another question: I noticed that the PC connection is connected through a USB. Is there a way to extend that connection utilizing a network cable with converters on each end, or are there major distance restrictions? I ask because the set-up is precarious at best, and to program via PC would be hazardous in the present environment.
Enough begging, thanks guys.

It can be annoying. I only turn it on once at a customer's request.

Do you have the programming software? Because there are some things that cannot be programmed thru the telephone and I think this feature might be one of them.
I don't know if you can convert network to USB, that would be nice if you could though.

I dont think the system could run a usb to network dongle, you can get network to usb converters for printers, but I think the work as print servers.
if you had an old pc you could set it up at the system and remote control that pc
