how can i program my TA824 with doorphone to be able to have the doorphone button trigger a ring to my cellphone when i am not home? or vice versa. is there a way to talk to my doorphone speaker box from offsite?

I've never seen it done on the 824 but you might try this. When you leave the house put the system in night mode. In night mode, point the doorphone to an extension that is forwarded to your cell phone.

Door phone calls don't follow forwarding. on any of the systems as far as I know. I know on TDA it will overflow to VM.

Refer to the "doorphone to tva50" post , it seems you could do a similar config but DIL the line NIGHT to an extension which is fwd external to your cell. (I don't think you can simply point a doorbox call to an extension and have it forwarded internal or external.) Then I would agree with 94 and use NIGHT mode to control when the forwarding takes place.
