I'm finally getting around to programming all the Flexible buttons on our D308 system and am having trouble programing a button to answer an "all page" (intercom - 330). I understand to do it manually you hit intercom and 43. When I try to program that with: (Program-99-The button I'm programming-1 or 2- then 43-store-program), it doesn't do anything when I try to answer the page all with it. I'm able to store the 43 by using the "2" option above, but it doesn't answer the page when I press the button. Answering the page manually (intercom then 43) works fine, and I've been able to program other functions like extensions, intercom 330, etc. so I'm not sure why this particular option isn't working. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Kindly,
Marc

If the system is set to pick up a co line or no tone when you pick up the handset you will have to press intercom then the button

Thanks OBT. That works, but is there any way for it to be programmed where you just press the button to answer? Since we're able to program a button to do the equivalent of "intercom 330" (without pressing intercom) I don't get why a button can't be programmed to do "intercom 43".

Does the phone go immediately to intercom when you lift the handset or press speaker?
If not, I believe thet's your problem.

Hi Kevin. Thanks for the reply. All our phones are set to select an available CO line when a handset is lifted or speaker is pressed. What I don't get is that we can program a button do the equivalent of "intercom 330" (without pressing intercom), but we can't program a button for "intercom 43." Is there a way to program a button to do the "intercom 43" without having to press intercom (and leaving our phone programmed for selecting a CO line when lifted)? Thanks again for the help.

Sorry, I need to clarify. I was hoping the button could be pressed without having to lift the handset or hit speaker. Is that just not possible when responding to a page all? I am trying to keep it simple for users so that they don't have to remember to lift the handset, select intercom and then press the button. Thanks!

This is one of the engineering things Panasonic changed with the TDA/TDE's. When a phone with a 3-line or more display receives a page, a prompt comes up above one of the softkeys that says ANSWER, and it does what you wish the TD could do when you press that button. Software updates on the TD's were not an easy process, and there were only a handful of updates over a period of 10 years. The new systems allow software updates via sd cards. That makes it much easier to fulfill the "wish list". The hardest problem is convincing engineering it is necessary.

Thanks for the additional info ictelco. So it sounds like our system just isn't able to do what I had hoped. I'll file it away as one of the mysteries of Panasonic. ; ) I guess we'll try to get the users to remember to hit intercom before hitting the button we programmed for the 43 all page answer. Thanks to everyone for their input and assistance with this.
